ALAMEDA COUNTY EMS CORPS PROGRAM Purpose of Program The Alameda County EMS Corps is a 5 month paid (stipend) program where participants will receive Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training and participate in internships and community service events. With this preparation, participants will be trained to pursue careers as EMTs, fire fighters, and/or hospital employment. Program Benefits * Trained/educated through daily classes, tutoring, workshops, and internships on first responder skills and response; anatomy; and the prevention, treatment, and physiology of various illnesses and public health/community health issues. * Receive life coaching, mentorship support, and first responder-health education at local health fairs; practice public-speaking and using leadership skills. * Participate in professional and career development workshops (networking skills, communication skills, educational paths, etc.).
