Hope everyone are aware of this news Here is one more that very scary and shocking happened with us Bay Area California Friday 10/10/2014 at 6.45 pm it was still bright light at evening in Bay Area. After picking up medicines for my Mom and done with shopping. My wife was walking out of Walgreens Pharmacy to the parking lot, a American Black young teenager around 18 yrs followed behind her at Walgreens pharmacy. That particular moment my wife was talking to me on phone and was walking towards her car with her cart. And my friends it was evening and there were many people around in parking lot. My wife casually went to her Car and was still on phone talking to me, the moment she opened the Trunk to keep the stuff. A teenager who was following her suddenly came in front and tried to snatch her necklace ( Mangala Sutras- auspicious necklace and black beads necklace) my wife resisted and kicked him but he came forward, pushed and pointed the Gun at her and snatched her necklace, in that stunt the people around were just onlookers and did not have guts to come forward for help. My wife phone was still On as its slipped from her hand and I can hear her shouting on onlookers to call 911. But I was really in shock and was shouting and was trying to guess the state of incident. The guy fled with the necklace and I was still on the call shouting from my end and other end can hear my wife shouting. I think some one called 911 and I was able to hear the police sirens on phone, I just felt little relieved but was still thinking as how to reach my wife , even it was not worth for me to rush with speed to the incident spot. I was idling in the traffic with speed. In that moment and shock I got a thought to call my brother. I informed my brother about the incident, my brother and sister in law immediately reached spot and took care to pacify her. By the time I reached Cops started the investigation they went into Walgreens pharmacy checked the CCTV cameras, but was unable to view clearly trace the guy as he was with his hood and the CCTV covered him from back and only to some distance when he followed. The investigation is still on. I really commend my wifes braveness in resisting and fighting back to save herself, lucky that Gun did not got triggered but also say its not worth it to fight back. So friends I am not posting this to get sympathy on the incident .... I wanted to CAUTION and let every WOMEN especially INDIAN WOMEN in US to be careful when they wear jewelry and walk in public places. After reading this please mind this does not pertain to One area or locality its just a posted for awareness and cautioning There is no more room for sentiments in wearing these auspicious necklaces and jewelry Please for god sake nothing more than a Life. Life which is attached with Family is more precious with lots of sentiments. Always Be Vigilant and Be Safe. Anyone who see such incidents around dont be onlookers immediately first thing Call 911 and second if possible pick up you mobile phone and record the incident without the suspect noticing you.
