ALERT FOR GETAWAY WEDNESDAY TRAVELERS -- Confidence is now growing that a very stormy weather pattern will spread northward across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast States from Tuesday night on into Wednesday. Expect moderate-to-heavy rains and strong winds that will almost certainly impact those who will be traveling on this day before Thanksgiving. And if you plan to be anywhere west of a line extending roughly from Oswego, NY to Richmond, VA, the possibility exists for a wintry mix of rain, ice and wet snow with higher terrain areas above 750 to 1000-feet likely seeing mostly heavy wet snows with heavy (6+) snow accumulations. Thursday, the storm will be gone, leaving in its wake partial sunshine, unseasonably cold temperatures as well as blustery winds.
