ALERT!! On September 24th at approximately 5:30 pm two suspects in a white “work truck” approached an elderly man standing in his front yard. The suspects informed the man that they needed to come on his property and see about trimming the tree line. While one man stayed in the front yard talking to and distracting the victim, the other went into the tree line and circled around to the back of the victim’s house. The first suspect kept the victim distracted for about an hour. After the suspects left, the elderly victim realized that his residence had been entered through the back door and approximately $50,000.00 worth of property had been taken from his residence. The suspects were driving a white extended cab pickup, possibly a Ford, with some type of landscaping company and phone number on the side. The suspect that distracted the victim is described as a white male, thin build, dark hair, approximately 5’11” with a goatee. If anyone has any information on this vehicle or these suspects call the Ovilla Police Department and talk to Sgt. Detective Bennett. The Ovilla Police Department would like to inform citizens cautious of suspicious activity as this and never hesitate to report something that may be suspicious. Stay safe.
