ALIVE “For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” =Hebrews 4:12 To be strong in faith the first thing you must settle on is the integrity of the Word of God. You must know that the Bible is exactly what it declares itself to be—God’s Word! A revelation from God to us! It is God speaking to us now! It is not only a book of the past and of the future—but a book of now. It is a God-breathed, God-indwelt, God inspired message. Moffatt’s translation of Hebrews 4:12 reads, “For the Word of God is a living thing . . .“ Quick! Alive! Living! But it will only come alive to you as you accept it and act upon it. I’ve always maintained this attitude toward the Word of God and acted upon it accordingly: It is just as though the Lord Jesus Christ was here in person speaking to me. Confession: God’s Word is alive. It is alive in me. He speaks to me through it. He gives me revelation. I accept His Word as though the Lord Jesus Christ Himself was here in person speaking to me. And I act upon it accordingly.
