ALL FIJIANS NEED TO SEE 12 YEARS A SLAVE TO APPRECIATE FIJIS - TopicsExpress

ALL FIJIANS NEED TO SEE 12 YEARS A SLAVE TO APPRECIATE FIJIS true, authentic TRUE HISTORY I just finished watching this movie, and like after reading Nicky Hagars DIRTY POLITICS, I came out of it , sick. In getting to where USA is today, there were many collateral damage. Slavery and mistreatment of African Americans has been, but one of them. And this was almost 150 years ago. Fiji today is at that developing stage of history that USA was 150 years ago. One collateral damage in Fiji was similar mistreatment of Indian Indentured Labourers ( Girmitiyas) similar to African Americans. Indenture was another name for slavery after abolishing on slavery in 1850s. Indigenous Fijians in Fiji do not know that Indian Girmitiyas were surrogates to suffering that their forbears should have gone through as development of the country. Instead, it was our forbear Girmitiyas who suffered what Black African Americans suffered, as SLAVES you will see in 12 YEARS A SLAVE If those abusive Indigenous Fijians of this generation had known something of Fijis history, which has always been distorted, they would treat Indo-Fijian more humanly, and more Christian-like, Indians were brought to Fiji to protect the Fijians communal way of life, as cane farming dictated individual farm lots. If anything, I-Taukei should be thankful to Indo-Fijians forbears for protecting their way of life. It appears their past leaders, including Ratu Mara, Rabuka or Qarase, conveniently ignored this fact and real history, in their greed for power. We are thankful to Bainimarama for having that insight, vision and appreciation that past Indigenous leaders ignored. Watch this movie, must watch for Indo-Fijians and I-Taukei to appreciate what Girmitiyas went throug as history was in making. AND APPRECIATE THE CHILDREN OF GIRMITIYAS AS FIJI TODAY IS WHAT usa IS BECAUSE OF SLAVERY OF AFRICAN AMERICANS [With Rajendra Prasad, Satish Rai, Vanita Nair, Sanat Pandey, Satish Chandra, Deo Mani, Deo Singh, Vimal Sharma, Tej Ram Prem Pundit, Tears in Paradise -Girmit and Struggles of Indians in Fiji, Jai Fiji, Fiji Girmit Foundation NZ फिजी गिरमिट फौंडेशन न्यू ज़ीलैण्ड, Fiji Times (Canada) Ltd] https://youtube/watch?v=z02Ie8wKKRg
