ALS truth: Fact- only 7% of the funds are being used for research (using and torturing animals by the way, which has proven not only to be inhumane but ineffective). Fact - 10% of funds are allocated for salaries, and 18% for fundraising (getting more money). Dont wanna rain on anyones parade, but you really have to do your research before jumping on the fun ice bucket challenge people. I can also see how positive is all the awareness that this has created, but the truth is that just because an organization is non-profit doesnt mean theyre not money hungry, and that the money they received will be in its majority used for caring for patients. Which allows it to still function, remember if a cure is found no more organization. Rather than using it in finding a real cure.
