ALTERNATIVE/HOLISTIC HEALTH: Although this page is mostly about Mediumship, it is still connected to spirituality which is also connected to taking care of Thyself (Mind, Body, Spirit), so every now and again, I feel guided to post something inspirational about the other important aspects of our being...our bodies. I am quick to point out that I am NOT a medical doctor, but I do have a medical laboratory science background, so I will share with you LIGHTLY some of the things worth considering when seeking out alternative measures. First of all, your body has its very own homeostasis-your bodys own chemical makeup that is unique to you and you alone. There are many supplements out there to aid in your health, I agree. But it is extremely important to find a CERTIFIED LICENSED Holistic Doctor (N.D.) that understands the physiological makeup of the body if you choose to go this route. There are many, many things to consider when taking supplements or dabbling into other modalities that may affect your bodys own chemistry. To give an example, taking Coconut Oil is the big rave right now and there are many benefits of taking it. HOWEVER, if the protocol of taking Coconut Oil lets just say is 2tbl spn 2x day (14g of fat/tblspn) that is 28g of fat that you are adding to your body. But heres the kicker...if your LIVER is sluggish or not processing properly, what do you think is happening? Your blood is taking on all of that FAT causing your lipid levels to raise, heart palpitations/arrhythmias to occur and may contribute to serious health issues. So yes, this may be working wonderfully for a friend or the person of whom recommended this dietary supplement to you, but it may NOT work FOR you right out of the gate like it did them. Another example, trace minerals such as Zinc and Copper, which are very important to the body. But if the ratio is off, you could become toxic or again, have serious side affects. These are ions and fight for the same spot in the body if taken together, so they need to be taken at different times. These are just two of the many things to consider when taking supplements so please, I cannot stress it enough...find a qualified practitioner who knows the body inside and out and all of its makeup. One more thing I cringe at...Growth Hormone supplements (especially the workout buffs who want bigger muscles). I get it, but if you have a cyst or something growing that is foreign to the body, what do you think that GH is feeding besides your muscles?...Exactly! Not my place to tell you what to do, but if I can share the knowledge of what I DO know towards contributing to a serious decision, then that is what this post is meant for. :) Just my 2cents worth...if I can help even one person become aware than thats all that matters. Carry on.... Enjoy your day, Robynne
