AM I CRAZY? (or, is that up for debate?) :) I found out today that a guy from our English corner really despises me and says a lot of bad things about me. Actually, it was a surprise. When he was very rude to me this weekend on a very public IM group site (QQ), it was surprising to me. He blasted me very publicly. I didnt respond in kind (I dont do that). I simply said, Ray, Im surprised by your feelings and thoughts about me. Its funny though because I dont feel the same about you. Ive always liked you and respected you for being such a great student of English and a nice guy. So, though I realize you feel the way that you do about me, I want to say that I still think well of you even though I know the feeling isnt mutual. Have you noticed that people will attempt to pull you to their level? Those who choose to walk and live at a high level in life, will encourage you and try to boost you up with them. Those who are at low level will try to pull you down with them. I choose the high ground regardless of what others say or feel about me. I chose the high ground when my ex-wife divorced me. I promised her that I would never speak ill of her to our children. I think my children deserve better than something like that. So, Ive always kept that promise. Besides, Id be saying something bad about my own choices in life to do that. I respect my choices and believe that at every stage and time of my life, I made the best decision that I had the ability to make at that time. I dont live with any regrets (except that chance I had to buy Dell Computer stock in 1985). How others feel about you has nothing to do with you. Dismiss it quickly. How you feel about others has everything to do with you. And, I believe people sense that and know it. They will respect you when you choose the high road.
