** AMPHI ACTION MURAL PERMANENTLY CANCELLED - Mural Now On Threatened List ** We were shocked to receive a call from the Community Relations Manager for the Pima County Library, who informed us that the Amphi Mural Unveiling is cancelled out of concerns that “artists would speak about money, and be given a platform in front of elected officials”. The Library would not respond when asked if they plan on destroying the mural, or what the context is for this bizarre decision. This unexpected decision has been described as “surrealistic” and “cruel” by neighbors. At this time we are deeply concerned about the safety of the mural itself. Unfortunately we have no further information and there are many unanswered questions. It will be up to you to decide what happens next in regards to this matter.
