Simon Palomares Simon Palomares is a Spanish-Australian comedian and actor, best known for his character “Ricky” in Acropolis Now. He has performed comedy shows in the United States, Canada, Spain and Argentina. More recently, Palomares has toured Australia in a combination cooking program and stand-up comedy show called Palomares Cooks Calamares. Palomares has extended his credits to writing, directing, and hosting. He combined these to create acclaimed short film The Usual at the St Kilda Film Festival. Ezra Bix Ezra Bix’s career in the arts began when he graduated from NIDA. In 2008, Bix was a finalist of the Doris Leadbetter Poetry Cup, and he has collected several awards and titles along the way. Bix is also one of the featured poets on ABC TV’s upcoming series Bush Slam. He wrote a music-theatre piece which featured at MICF and was voted one of the best cabaret shows of the year. In 2009, Bix launched his first book of poetry, Dancing in the Lifeboat, exploring the issues of global warming, the plight of refugees, the personality flaws of a cake and the fruit-loopy kookiness of consumerism.
