AN OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR HSD OF BAYELSA STATE PLEASE KINDLY - TopicsExpress

AN OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR HSD OF BAYELSA STATE PLEASE KINDLY RELIEVE AND REORGANIZE YOUR EXECUTIVE FOR GREATER EFFICIENCY AND PATRIOTISM. Excellency, this letter became necessary in the face of current realities on ground in yenagoa, bayelsa state. You would recall in your maiden address that persuaded by what you witnessed as a child from the rural riverine community you were inspired to change the tide of things and to prove to the world that not even terrain will be a clog in your wheel of progress towards giving the right leadership to bayelsa and cause unprecedented change in the land. To this end you promised to appoint men of integrity who will not only share your dreams and aspirations but will be the vehicle upon which these dreams will become reality to change lives under your watch. Given the strength of your advocacy and background as a struggle man, we believed your words and patiently waited for your words to be matched with action. Today, almost three years when you came and inflamed our believe in change, our expectations have not been totally met. While we are hopeful that much can still be achieved under your administration given the pace with which you started, its also pertinent to point out a few factors which are currently militating against your total and even accomplishment of your lofty dream of making bayelsa the cynosure of all eyes and indeed truly the glory of all lands. Excellency, before I candidly point out the most critical factor militating against your restoration team, its pertinent to commend you on your drive , vision and modest works within the period under review. We must as a people not fail to commend you, this we believe is being human and grateful for the purposeful drive of your government. The changes recorded in security roads, housing, education, health and your commendable feat in trying to establish tourist sites as an alternative source of revenue and thus attracting visitors is indeed worthy of our gracefulness. We have as a people become very conscious of our government especially yours given your record as a former legislator who was the most vocal critics of the Sylva administration and more so because of what we termed most experienced in government. Our dear Governor, I will not burden you with the many factors identified, but would rather subsume all under what we have identified as the human factor. In elucidating on the above factor, it will be educative to state here that the success of every leader is known and measured by the kind of characters surrounding such a leader. Thus the success of the Obama administration was factored on his team which comprised men and women who were successes in their various fields who were not only co dreamers but were absolutely patriotic and committed to the American dream. Interestingly most of such people are the very kind that President Obama has recruited to help him shape government policies and make America better and greater than he met it. Can this be said of your team. Unfortunately, this cannot and will not be said of your team. You have in your inflamed passion appointed people who in your estimation bears the same burden, that of making our state a legacy of change. Unfortunately events within the period of your leadership has shown that only few are committed to actualizing your dreams as they bear the dream of what the late Cicero of oka called pocket resource control. These appointees of yours lacks the zeal, the finesse, the depth of expected experience and above all, the passion for our people and land hence instead of being the vehicle of change they have become your ABALTROSS. The likes of Hon Foster Ogola, fefegha, salo Adikumoh to mention a few are those masquerading as your key men where as they are indeed the reason for the loud outcry of the anger against your government. In the light of the above, we the people who have toiled to give change a chance are admonishing you to boldly dissolve your cabinet and appoint a few trusted and committed men and women to drive your vision. Let it be known that the continued retention of men in the mould of OGOLA will only make your government less popular and increase the anger of both men and GOD against you. In conclusion, I leave you with the popular aphorism of the late sage Pa Obafemi Awolowo who once said that the voice of the people is the voice of God. Make haste while the sun shines.
