ANCs treatment of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is worrying,she is the only woman from the anti-apartheid struggle not to have been awarded Isitwalandwe/Seaparankwe. The ANC describes it as the highest honour awarded to those who have made an outstanding contribution and sacrifice to the liberation struggle. Isitwalandwe, translated, means the one who wears the plumes of the rare bird. Winnie is the mother of the nation yet, they [ANC] call her names, total disrespect for such a woman of Great Substance and Presence.
