ANGEL THOUGHT FOR THE NIGHT: Today while out on a brief break, I stopped over at the Friends of Animals Thrift store in Eldon, Missouri to find some used furniture for a friend in need. Friends and family, if you havent stopped in to their store lately, you are missing out...they are constantly displaying new merchandise EVERY day (throughout the day for that matter) and have unbelievably dirt cheap prices. These TRULY DEDICATED volunteers work VERY hard (like ALL the rescue groups out there do, I know) to clean, iron, fold, hang, wash, dry, and organize everything including the kitchen sink to raise money for abandoned, abused and neglected animals. They will always give you a smile and a helping hand in your search for something new and exciting, despite their tiredness, because in between the seams, they are also responding to local calls on yet another situation where someone abandoned their animals and they are starving or freezing to death, or there is a scared dog running out in the middle of traffic and no one else will help...the list goes on. Well, in my casual conversation with a friend, I found out that someone today stole their donation jar that they had on the counter. Really?...Really?...Really? They didnt know exactly how much, but even the amount is not the whole point here...its the fact that beautiful people such as yourself freely gave a $1.00 here or $5.00 there so that neglected animals could have just a bit more of a chance in life (like God intended for all His creation). Friends of Animals probably would never even say anything about this unfortunate circumstance because business still has to go on when fighting for those less fortunate. Well, Im a bit more of a blabber mouth and kind of feel that you all should know. When digging in to your change drawer the next time, do you mind sending it to them or just stopping by their store and giving it to them in person! A quarter here, a dollar there, when added up, can make a tremendous difference! They do have a facebook and webpage if you need any further particulars about their non-profit organization.
