ANNOUNCEMENTS 10/25 Lunch today: buffalo chicken pizza alt: cheese pizza Mon: chop suey alt: ham & cheese sandwich Tues: meatloaf alt: grilled cheese11 Wed: chicken pot pie (corn bread from the ARC) alt: ham cracker stacker Thurs: cheese quesadilla K-5 assembly at 8:45 this morning in the auditorium. Class of 2016 hosts A Haunted Movie; School Auditorium; open for ages 13-101 tonight at 6:30 pm; Refreshments after the movie; $7 per person; We cant give away too many details, but we can tell you that it will be SCARY FUN!! Hope to see you there! Halloween costume party tomorrow on the field. 10:30-12:30. Events: ghost walk, creepy mystery tent, pumpkin bowling, face painting & more. Admission: $10 per participant which includes a snack, drink and a goodie bag How it works: The child is given an empty bag at entry. As they complete each event, they are given a prize. The child can do as few or as many events as they want. Halloween treats and a photo booth will be available too. Hope to see you there! --The Class of 2018 Juniors: Schwans orders are due on Monday. Call Danielle with ?’s. 7/8 basketball practices begin on Monday. 7/8 boys from 3-4, following by a parent/athlete meeting at 4 PM, and then the 7/8 girls will practice until 5:30. The Junior class will be traveling to Bowdoin on Monday leaving on the 8:45 boat. They will spend the night there, tour the campus, and attend a class with the Bowdoin education students. They will return on the 10:30 boat on Tuesday. Juniors please bring in your permission slips, meet at the boat on Monday, and remember to pack a lunch for Monday! The high school art class is leaving on the 7:00 ferry on Wed, Oct. 30th. They’ll return on the 2:45 ferry that afternoon. Ellie, Ashley D-O, Heidi, Miranda, Aliza, Molly, Hayley, Iris, Abby H., Emily, Isles, Owen, Ruby, Taylor, Tracie. The 8th grade girls will be at the Humane Society on Oct. 30th. They’ll leave on the 7:00 ferry & return on the 1:00 ferry. The Island Institute has a new scholarship opportunity for island high school students from the Penobscot Bay and Down East islands. It’s called the Geiger Scholarship, and it is for high school students who want to participate in a spring, summer, or fall education program either within the U.S. or abroad. There will be three scholarships awarded each year, one per spring, fall, and summer season. Each scholarship will range between $5,000 to $10,000. The first deadline is actually coming up quickly: October 30th, for the Spring 2014 season. The Geiger Scholarship application and information page can be downloaded at islandinstitute.org/scholarships Halloween Dance for grades 9-12 on Saturday, Nov. 2nd from 7-10pm $5 per student.
