ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM TOWN AND COUNTRY PUBLIC LIBRARY IN ELBURN WATSON’S WINNERS READING CLUB Watson, the Library’s mascot, invites grade school students to join him for another year of his Reading Club. Club members meet the third Monday evening of each month with their parents or caregivers to discuss books and participate in fun activities on a topic chosen for that month. This school year students will listen to and read stories from children’s author Dick King-Smith. Mrs. Char Hiebert, one of the library’s story time ladies, will lead the club meetings every month. The first club meeting is Monday, October 21, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Please register. CHRISTMAS CANINE CAPERS CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOPS Calling all dog lovers! Do you remember Wishbone, Marley, and Air Bud? The focus of this creative writing class will be Christmas dog “tales.” Whether you love action or mystery stories, a dog is sure to add an abundance of loveable adventure. Taught by local author Mrs. Jan May, these workshops will teach the basics of creative writing, character, setting and plot development. Workshops will be held Tuesdays, October 29 through November 19, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Open to students between the ages of eight and twelve. Please register.
