ANOTHER GREAT PROTEIN SCAM!!! I was looking at protein labels tonight, because that’s what I like to do at midnight, and I noticed the following 2 ingredients in one of the top selling proteins on the market: XXX Sunflower Powder (Soy Lecithin and Tocopherols, Sunflower Oil, Corn Syrup Solids, Sodium Caseinate, Mono-& Di-Glycerides, Dipotassium Phosphate, Tricalcium Phosphate) XXX MCT Powder (Medium Chain Triglycerides, Non-Fat Dry Milk, Disodium Phosphate, and Silicon Dioxide). The XXX was actually the brands name which I removed to protect the guilty. Unbelievable, they were so proud of getting over on their customers that they actually named this scam after themselves. I guess the words sunflower and MCT are supposed to make you think you’re getting some beneficial fats. Do you know what they really are? The proper label name for the first one is “NON DAIRY CREAMER” and the name for the second is “DAIRY CREAMER”. These are cheap fillers being hidden in the protein powder under false names that are used to lower the cost of the product. What are they really? FAT and SUGAR. This particular brand uses whey concentrate and isolate among a few others, two proteins where great expense is used to remove the fat and sugar giving them a higher protein ratio. The brand hypes them up by touting their high protein content and low fat and sugar. But then the manufacturer throws in CREAMERS which just adds the fat and sugar right back in, bringing the cost and quality of the protein right back down to crap. Its all MARKETING HYPE! Another one of the great scams the supplement industry uses to rip you off. It’s no wonder the protein value of this product is under 50%. By the way, pure MCT oil costs about 5 times more than Creamers and has none of the added fillers like corn syrup solids. MCT oil is a good way to add medium chain triglycerides. But creamer is crap; this brand is just switching the name to fool you into believing that some cheap filler is good for you. Look at labels of other protein powders and you will be surprised how many brands use CREAMERS, they are not always easy to find because brands will camouflage them, changing their names or separating the ingredients and scattering them through the rest of the ingredients so you don’t notice. Just another midnight rant.
