ANSWER TO THE QUESTION OF THE WEEK: “Nooooo”. It may work to some degree but it is not recommended and the possibility of the material curing with the advertised tensile and flexural strengths is nil. Typically MEKP is used with resins promoted with cobalt napthenate and accelerated with dimethylaniline (DMA); and typically BPO is used with resins promoted only with dimethylaniline (DMA). There may be some reaction if the catalysts are switched, but, the ratio of catalyst to promoter will be way off prohibiting a good cure.
