Some people like to study things which will never be benefi cial to their lives. A lot of times people like to study how long was Adam’s hair? Some people like to talk about that. Does it matter? How long was Jesus’ beard? Churches split because of that. Mat 17:14 - 20 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, (15) Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. (16) And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could no t cure him. (17) Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. (18) And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. (19) Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? (20) And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say un to this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Jesus didn’t do anything that they didn’t try. They did what Jesus did and they said what Jesus said and the devil didn’t come out. Then Jesus ca me and did the same thing as they did and the devil went out. People say “Lord I prayed the way you asked me to pray and I did what you asked me to do. Why didn’t I get the job? Lord why did we lose the pregnancy? We did everything. Dear God why and the ma n still died.” There is a lot of whys here you know. Jesus said “Because of your unbelief:” Jesus was not a complicated man he was very simple. It reminds me of T.L. Osborn. T.L Osborn said if you say that you taught and the people didn’t understand, you d idn’t teach. Jesus made it so plain, because of your unbelief. There are people who would be ready to die for believing that they had faith if you said they didn’t. They will never believe that they never had faith. So then why didn’t it work? Because of t heir unbelief. If it didn’t work it wasn’t faith. Faith always works! So what is faith? Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is the evidence of the thing which you hoped for. That means that you’ ve to have the evidence of which you hoped for before you see the result . You can’t pray asking God “Please heal me O Lord” again and again. Once you’ve said it the next time you are not going to pray again asking for the same thing because you’ve the evid ence of the thing which you prayed for. Therefore you don’t ask God but thank him instead for your healing and start rejoicing because he has healed you. Although other people might not see that you are healed. If you have that conviction, then you’ve fait h. And if you know that it has happened you’ll start acting upon the confession you are making. You’ll start to walk, if you could not walk. You’ll feel like wanting to walk. When that happens, begin to walk! If you don’t have it and you are praying God as king, you are believing. You don’t have faith. Believing and faith are two things. You believe to receive but faith has already received it. 1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. These things a bide forever. They are! They never fail. They produce results. No matter what happens – faith hope and love never fails.
