APC orders Kwankwaso to stay away from Jonathan visit to Kano *Investigations reveals that APC has ordered officials of APC state not to accord President Jonathan necessary protocol courtesies Arrangements of Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso to personally receive President Jonathan who was in Kano on Saturday were thwarted when a last minute directive of his party led to his withdrawal. The governor sent his deputy, Umar Ganduje to receive the President and lead him to the Emirs palace. The governors actions shocked top Presidency officials who had personally delivered the letter acquainting him of the Presidential visit. Earlier in the week, the governor directly met with Presidency Protocol officials and they fine-tuned the logistics and security details. However, on Friday, Scan News gathered reliably that a national leader of the APC from the north phoned Kwankwaso asking him not to participate in Jonathans visit. The said party leader claimed that the Presidents visit had political undertone as he allegedly told Kwankwaso that Jonathan will score heavy political points if Kwankwaso showed up at the airport and Emirs Palace. The same APC leader, sources gathered stopped the Sokoto governor, Aliyu Wammako from receiving Jonathan when he visited to receive Bafarawa. However, shortly after that gaffe, the media strategists of the APC sent unsigned releases to their media agents claiming that the former Chief of Staff, Oghiadohme did not write ti the Sokoto State governor on the visit. Investigations revealed that three letters were sent to Wamakko oon the visit. Officials of the Presidency also met the Chief of Staff to Wammako on the Presidents visit. With the political absence of the Kano State governor during the President visit to the Emir of Kano, it is now clear that the nations leading opposition can no longer distinguish between politics and social functions of an elected President.
