APPEAL FOR FUND DEAR FRIENDS, COMRADES, WARM GREETINGS The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the 16th Lok Sabha elections starting the polling from 7th April. So we have to start filing the nominations and intensify the campaign to reach the people without any delay. As already announced, the CPI(ML) is contesting seventy LS seats from Kerala, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, AP, Odisha, W. Bengal, Manipur, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, MP, UP, Rajasthan and Punjab, besides some assembly seats from AP and Odisha. The Election Manifesto is already published in different languages (visit our website: cpiml.in). It calls for vote for struggle, vote for change, vote for people’s power; it calls to vote for Anti-imperialist People’s Alternative against all ruling class alternatives ranging from Congress, BJP to third front or federal front or AAP which are nothing more than different safety valves to continue the hegemony of the existing ruling system. At a time when the neo-colonial stranglehold, communal and fascist onslaughts and influence of caste politics are intensifying day by day, when imperialism, especially US imperialism, is engaged in accelerating its efforts to impose neo-colonial hegemony in all fields, when all ruling class fronts are competing to accelerate the neo-liberal policies, building such an alternative uniting all genuine left, patriotic, democratic, secular forces has great significance. The CPI (ML) has appealed to all workers and peasants, to all toiling masses, to all patriotic democratic secular forces to vote for the candidates fielded by it and candidates fielded by the constituents of the Democratic People’s Forum to strengthen this People’s Alternative. As you know, the ruling system is trying to frustrate the efforts of progressive forces to utilize the elections as part of intensifying the class struggle, by enhancing the deposit amount of Lok Sabha candidates to Rs. 25, 000 and creating obstacles for popular methods of campaigning. Though the campaign was started with an appeal for votes and notes from the masses, from February, our collection is not sufficient not even to file the nominations.
