APPEAL TO PARENTS We need your help please. If your childs school has asked for your permission for your son or daughter to go on a school trip abroad, would you please ask the school which tour company they are using. A tour company is very different from a coach company. A coach company just provide the coach and driver normally however, many tour companies will book transport, ferry crossings, accommodation and maybe even some of the activities. Many tour companies are booking the coach drivers into accommodation that does not allow them to rest and sleep adequately. The coach drivers are telling BUSK that this is of huge concern because they want and need to be refreshed when they drive your children. What information do we need? Just your contact details which will remain private, the name of the school and the name of the tour company they plan to book the trip with. We will, on your behalf contact the tour company to find out if they are booking drivers into single room accommodation to the same standard as the rest of the party and in a quiet area of the hotel where they can rest and sleep undisturbed when off duty. We will report back to you so you have the opportunity to tell your school that you want the drivers to each have their own space to relax, rest and crucially sleep so the journeys they make will be safer. If you are paying up to or more than £1,000 for the trip it is likely you will have ot pay more for the trip but our research shows that this would be less than £10 per parent.
