APPEAL: We are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in the Lichfield area yesterday (Sunday). Emergency services were called to Birmingham Road, Shenstone, near to the A5 junction, at 11am. The collision involved a blue Yamaha motorcycle and a silver Ford Fusion. The motorcyclist, a 54-year-old man from the Oldbury area, was treated by paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. His condition is described as critical. The occupants of the car were also treated at the scene. The road was closed for approximately two-and-half hours whilst a detailed scene examination was carried out. We would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding whilst this took place. An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is now underway and we are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
