APRIL 1, 2014 Officers responded to a report of a child crying for an unusual amount of time inside of a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street. After several attempts to get an answer at the door a vehicle pulled into the parking lot with the resident. Upon opening the door a 14 month old child was found sitting at the top of the staircase crying and a 5 year old and a 3 year old sleeping inside of an upstairs bedroom. The resident identified herself as the mother of the children and stated that she and her cousin had left the children alone and unsupervised to go and purchase Tylenol. The incident was documented and turned over to the Department of Social Services. A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community after friends and neighbors became concerned about the homeowners health. At the conclusion of the investigation the case was turned over to the Department of Social Services. Officers responded to a civil dispute at the Liberty Tax Office at 8120 East Main Street. A noise complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 209 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to an upstairs neighbor. No charges were filed. A harassment complaint was filed by a subject at Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a female approaching her vehicle at the drive up ATM machine and brandishing a staple gun in her waistband stating that the complainant was taking too long. The victim did not wish to pursue charges. A traveler on I-95 South reported striking a large piece of tire debris causing damage to her Toyota Prius. No injuries were reported. A maroon GMC Envoy was stopped for a suspended tag in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Nadia Johnson was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina drivers license for two failure to pay traffic ticket offenses. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle. A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway. An argument between two men was reported in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street. No charges were filed. Officers responded to the Jasper County Mental Health Offices at 1508 Grays Highway in reference to a patient arguing and cursing with counselors attempting to collect his information. A pick up order was then issued by the Jasper County Probate Judge at which time the patient was turned over to Jasper County Sheriffs Deputies for transport to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.
