ARCHITECT Job Purpose The Architect will be responsible for designing, alteration and modification of new buildings, extensions and advising on restoration and conservation of properties. The Architect will work closely with Clients and users to make sure projected designs match their needs and function. The Artichect will also control project from start to finish and work with a number of Construction Professionals, including Surveyor and Engineers, producing drawings and specifications that the construction team works to. Job Description 1. Review contract drawings, specifications to ensure proper coordination and installation. 2. Check the as-built drawings and diagrams as well as their development if necessary. 3. Ensure work coordination, information exchange and discussion of implementing design solutions also liaising with construction professionals about feasibility of potential projects. 4. Assist in the preparation of project as -built. 5. Communicate with project team, clients and travelling regularly to building sites, proposed locations and attend Site meetings as necessary. 6. Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals. 7. Responsible for Coordinating, Managing, Monitoring the performance of workers in Site Operations. 8. Review programme for subcontractors and monitoring site work progress. 9. Control, supervise, handle projects, budgets and hire construction staff. 10. Responsible for all works and decisions making involved in small scale/large scale projects at the site and adopting plans according to circumstances and resolving any problems that may arise during construction. 11. Manage costs by optimizing use of consumables, materials, equipment and labour in execution of all phases of works making sure the projects are running according to schedule & budget. 12. Review all works as it is being placed to be sure it is accurate within accepted tolerances. 13. Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with specifications and also uphold safety codes and other regulations. 14. Writing and presenting reports, proposals, applications and contracts. 15. Evaluate construction methods and determine cost effectiveness of plans. 16. Any other duties as may be assigned. Qualification/Skills/Experience Diploma, Advance Diploma, Degree in Architecture/Project management/ Building and Construction methods or equivalent. Minimum Three years experience. Experience in fit out works and interior designing. Able to demonstrate technical skills in building and Construction. Motivated, attentive to details, good interpersonal and communication skills.
