::ARE YOU A SON?:: Hebrews 12:5-8 says for us not to despise Gods chastening, or rebuke. Whom God loves he chastens. So the scary part isnt the chastening; its when the chastening STOPS that one ought be worried! God at that point is no longer dealing with you as a son. Verse 8 says But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then ye are bastards, not sons. Those at this stage will latch on to any and everything for a sign God is still with them, while they continue to disobey him. Theyll find a nickel and penny on the sidewalk and declare a financial breakthrough from The Lord happened to them. Another checkout line in the store will open up and theyll be invited to it, then testify how Gods favor was upon them. Any and everything will become a miracle or sign..even the silver tongued words of unrepentant sinners about them will be music to their ears. As such they wont repent..just like the enemy wants them not to do. You can only despise the chastening of God for so long before he turns you over to a reprobate mind, which the enemy of your soul has.
