I want to bring to your attention the EXTRAJUDICIAL killings that are taking place in Eastleigh and some parts of Kenya majorly Mombasa county and parts of north Eastern province. Many Kenyan youths of Somali and Arab decent have been disappearing just to resurface dead and their body tortured beyond recognition. Those who have been able to survive this ordeal have never been the same again with some having amputated legs and arms others blind or deaf while other suffer physical ailment that I don’t even know how to frame it. The recent incidence took place at Eastleigh section two Tenth Street on the 29/01/2014 around mid-night,where a humble decent youth aged 29 was taken by a group of unidentified men while sleeping. A detailed interview with the watchman revealed that the men were heavily armed and in company of four salon cars and seemed that they were acting from a tip off. We looked for this guy everywhere possible including relative residences and police stations just to be called on Friday morning that that a body resembling the guy we reported was found lying on Thika road next to the streams that pass through Mathari slums. His body was tortured and limbs broken. Some parts of the body including the ears were cut with blunt objects as observed by city mortuary attendant. Those who are keen will note that this incident took place the same week it was reported that Al shaabab were planning an attack on Kenya both the government and the American Embassy. I know how strange it may sound, but I have to speak for my childhood friend, my neighbor and my peer whom up to this moment I believe he was innocent andthe innocence of his blood is compelling me to shout out aloud lest they come for me too because no one is safe. This is just but one of the many incidents that happen and go unreported. During the burial at Kariokor Muslim cemetery, we met a group of mourners whom their departed one also faced the same ordeal. They were from Majengo. As a youth born bred and stays in Kamukunji constituency most of these guys I have encountered them in one way or the other and it tortures my conscience whenever I think of them as gone and never to reappear but in a manner I don’t know how. I don’t support terrorism in anyway what so ever regardless of where it take place on earth and for those who know me well can be a witness of the many demonstrations I have attended or organized in protest to this. The recent one being Obama free the Cuban five while in the past demanding Bush to be taken to ICC for the loss of 1.4 million Iraqis lives and destruction of property in Iraq. My advice the concerned authorities is that terrorism is not pegged on religion or cult as we have always been told. Most of the terrorist are very inhumane and have no respect at all to humanity how can this be religious???? If frequenting temples, mosques, synagogues, churches and shrines with unkempt beards makes you a terrorist and the fathers and founders of all religion were terrorist since Jesus, Mohamed, Buddha, Constantine and Haile Sallaise had and unkempt beards than these ones we see today by the modern Jews. But I would rather advice the concerned organs that the menace is strongly associated to poverty, injustice, unemployment and unequal access to national resources. Why should someone be concerned about bettering the future if he can’t better his today or even feed his family?? Am saying this because this guys are smart and intelligent. They know you well as the back of their hand, what you do for a living where you stay, your friends, your telephone conversations, all your bank transactions, your social details and where you are at the moment and the I.P address of the device you are using to read this and it will only take exactly 666 seconds for them to retrieve you if they want you. Don’t cheat yourself that you are safe coz you aren’t a Muslim or not a youth. Speak up! Stand for justice and defended humanity as your sole moral obligation on earth as entrenched in our anthem and constitution that Justice be our shield and defender. If you don’t stand up speak against these injustice nature will also in return not mobilize anyone to speak for you when in need. And you loudest cry will be like echoes in a vacuum. Empower the youths, Make it easy for the them to access the loans and funds offered by the government, increase employment opportunities, make higher education cheaper and of quality to all, increase food production, focus on human development, stop politricks of slapping one anther it helps us not. Make us feel that we are a nation but not a bunch of citizens in the name of we are one media campaign. For heaven’s sake we are citizens not tourists, lower the taxes and cushion us from the jaws of poverty. By doing this everyone will be patriotic and no one shall rise against his or her own country to betray it. Kenya my country my land,I belong! Javan McOwalla Ochieng
