ARE YOU READY FOR JESUS TO COME? Has anybody asked you if you are ready for the second coming of our Lord Jesus? Maybe they worded it differently, like are you ready for the rapture? or a simple are you saved?. Have you heard about the movie Left Behind thats out in theaters right now? Its based on the books by Tim LaHaye & Jerry B. Jenkins, The Left Behind series, which tells what they imagine the end times will be like. Many have come to believe in a rapture in which some believers are taken into the clouds suddenly, without warning, and those left behind live through a period of chaos until eventually they all come to accept Jesus as Savior and King. There are pre-tribulationists, post-tribulationists, and various other interpretations of the second coming. But does our theology really matter? Does it make a difference if one believes that true believers are rescued before the great tribulation or after? If you have faith, God can help you endure trials and tribulations, even such as never have been seen before! Recent news events have some excited, just sure that prophecy is being fulfilled! What with the turmoil in the Middle East threatening Israels very existence to the blood moon recently seen, to all the natural disasters and seemingly new diseases, some feel certain these are signs of His imminent return, and they may be, but does it really matter? For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. (1 Thessalonians 5:2 KJV). If I cross the street today, and a truck hits and kills me, the next face Ill see will be my Saviors so why try to fit everything into some prophetic timeline? Jesus says, Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. (Revelation 3:11 KJV). This means, hold onto your faith, dont be deceived by false prophets or worrying about times and seasons. The point is He WILL come, whether in my lifetime or anothers and I need to know that my commitment is unwavering! Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:. (2 Peter 1:10 KJV). We, in our own efforts can never be READY for the Lords return! We cannot be good enough, do enough good works, tell enough people about Him! All those things are evidence of our faith, NOT our ticket into heaven! For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:. (Ephesians 2:8 KJV).
