ARE YOU STILL CRYING? Once somebody asked me, “Pastor I’m still crying for my lost, am I OK?”, before answering her, I pondered and ask the One who loves me most, God, is it OK?, and a train of thoughts came into my mind. Crying is just an outcome of what is happening in our emotions, whether we are happy, sad or frustrated in life, we cry. Other people instead of crying get mad or angry. I know somebody when he is sad instead of crying he laughs and made jokes. A lot of people is very uneasy when they see people crying, for them it is a sign of weakness and for them crying makes them vulnerable so instead of crying they get mad. But sadly anger is often, misdirected towards the people near to you. You get mad at your wife or husband, your children, your neighbor, and even your dogs. “Pati aso mo na walang kinalaman sa buhay mo, bigla mo na lang sisipain.” Pati church-mates mo galit ka na rin sa kanila. Yung buong frustration mo sa buhay ibubuhos mo sa mga spiritual leader mo. Is it OK to cry? Crying when you are sad, is a sign of lost, weakness, vulnerability, frustration, hopelessness or powerlessness as if of you are naked before somebody. If you are still crying for a long time, it is good to direct you’re crying towards somebody who loves you very much and what I mean is towards God. (John 3:16). Directing your crying towards yourself will just leads to self-pit and depression. If you direct you’re crying towards other, they might misunderstand you or use you because of your vulnerability. So, cry but towards God. In His words, Jesus said, He will wipe the tears in your eyes. Revelation 21:4 (NIV) 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” In my mind, I can see that when you face Him, He will both hold your cheeks with both His nail-pierced hand and He will use His thumbs to wipe the tears in your eyes and you will see in His eyes, His love towards you. I can almost hear Him says, I will redeem everything that was lost in your life. We have lots of frustration in life: loss of love one, unanswered prayer or desire, financial bankruptcy, unhealed body, loss of strength, loss of beauty, nobody loves you and much more, but If you have put your trust in the Cross of Jesus Christ, if you have put your life in His Lordship, I have to tell you, your Redeemer Lives!!! Just like what Job said during his suffering in Job 19:25 “ I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. “ In conclusion, is it OK to Cry? My answer is yes, but you must direct it towards God. A psalmist once said, Psalm 121 1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Be vulnerable and naked before God, take away you mask before Him, Jesus came into this world for those who are sick and hurting not for those who said that they are healed and does not need Him. Remember in Psalm Psalm 56:8 8 You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. Your life matters to God, He remembers even the tears in your eyes. Cry especially for others as well, pray and intercede for them. Remember you are more than a sparrow, as song said once, “His eyes are on the sparrows and I know He watches over me. I sing because Im happy, I sing because Im free, His eye is on the sparrow, And I know he watches over me.” See youtube/watch?v=k7Pk5YMkEcg
