ARGENTINE PEANUTS: According to SENASA statistic update, during Jan-Jun 2013 Argentina exported 209,467 MT of edible peanut kernels to 86 countries. This volume represents around US$ 290 Millions. The main importers were Netherland (76,924 MT), Russia (17,141 MT), UK (12,558 MT), Algeria (9,704 MT), Poland (8,257 MT) and Viet Nam (7,109 MT). It should be noticed that some major peanut producing countries demanded Argentine peanuts as well: the USA, China, India, South Africa, Australia, Egypt and Brazil. The official report brings surprises: Luxemburg, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malta and Kosovo entered the list of new clients. In regard to peanut oils, our own survey indicated that in the same period Argentina exported around 18,500 MT mostly to China and Hong Kong, but shipments were also sent to Spain, the USA, Canada, Netherland, Phillippines, Viet Nam, the United Arab Emirates, Japan and Myanmar. Exports of Argentine peanut butter in this first half of the year reached 3,980 MT; the main buyers were Israel, Germany, Algeria, Netherland, South Africa, South Korea, Japan, the USA, New Zealand, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon and the UAE. Small shipments went to Switzerland, Singapur, Indonesia and Malawi, among other destinations.
