ARGUMENTS RECENTLY RAISED HERE BY CREATIONISTS IN SUPPORT OF THE HISTORICITY OF THE FLOOD, AND OF THE RECENT ORIGINS OF GEOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE EARTH ARE MADE IN FLAT CONTRADICTION OF ALL AVAILABLE EVIDENCE. FREQUENTLY ALL THE CREATIONIST OFFERS IS SOME PIECE OF LONG DISCREDITED RESEARCH, OR A PHANTASMAGORICAL BRAIN CHILD OF SOMEONE WITH LITTLE OR NO EXPERTISE IN THE FIELD. Legitimate objections are brushed aside, and the final clincher of god took care of all that offered when they are finally unable to deny what is all too evident to onlookers: that creationism is actually a substantial crock of shit, being sold to the gullible and the uneducated by snake-oil salesmen with large bank accounts and a power habit to feed. These things are known: evolution can be adequately demonstrated. The age of the earth is determined by physical evidence that cannot b e faked. and finally: THERE IS NO CONSPIRAC Y OF SCIENCE (SIC) TO SUPPRESS RELIGION. Stated flatly: The planet is 4.5 billion years old.There was no flood. Pangaea first began to separate around 200 million, NOT 4000 years ago, and is still moving. Mountains have stood as tall, or taller than Everest for hundreds of millions of years, been worn down by erosion, and uplifted again by the movement of tectonic plates. Seas have disappeared; flooded, and disappeared again; ice ages have come and gone, and the ice has melted and flooded the lower lying land. Ocean bottoms have silted up with the detritus of the sea, been lifted and submerged, compressed and twisted and thrust back and forth into the forms we see now by the movement of the earths crust. The earths entire population of living creatures have been extinguished - not once, but several times, and have re-evolved from the remnants of their species. The earth is old. OLD. Four and a half BILLION years old - but it has never been flooded over its entire surface, and none of the extinction events have been caused by such a universal flood. In terms of the earths age, the bible is a very young human folk tale. That anyone sees reason to take that tale literally is - or should be - a cause for alarm, because such credulity is normally an indication of the very primitive thinking of people with no education. In a population of people in a scientifically and technologically advanced society, it indicates terrible ignorance - and a reprehensible failure on the part of that countrys education system.
