ARKANSAS FIRE CHIEF DIES IN THE LINE OF DUTY-HEART ATTACK AT BLDG FIRE SCENE The Secret List FireFighterCloseCalls We regret to pass on to you that Chief Rick Winkles, who has been Fire Chief for several years in Trumann, suffered a massive heart attack while operating at a structural fire this afternoon. Chief Winkles died around 1800 hours at the hospital. Chief Winkles, 53, was a few months shy of being on the force for 28 years. He had planned to retire. The run was a working dwelling fire that reportedly started from a grass fire. We ll post additional as it is made available. Our condolences to all affected. RIP.
