ARNO ALUM UPDATE: MAURICE - Arno alum Maurice (we now call him Reece). When I first started volunteering I knew Reece as a shy dog who was very skittish. I knew that when I adopted him I would need to work with him to bring him out of his shell but I never expected the task that I took on when I adopted reece. When I brought him home, he was so scared. He would only come out of the bathroom to go outside and even then with one gust of wind he was cowering and begging to go inside. He would not play with my other dog and when we tried to give him toys he would run away. He did not like meeting new people and would run and hide when he would hear an unfamiliar voice. I wasnt able to raise my voice without him starting to tremble. With all of that being said, Reece has totally transformed in the two years that I have had the pleasure to be his mom. He runs around the whole house nowadays with his two furry sisters. He is the first to greet anyone at the door; new friend or old. He loves the wind and loves to prance around in the rain. He has started to play with toys and play tug of war with the other pups as well as give them kisses all day. He loves to cuddle and he even knows what the word means. He is the best dog that I have ever had and I am so thankful that I took a chance on him two years ago. Thank you ARNO for rescuing him and for bringing the two of us together.
