ARTE Resort Retirement under investigation by Arizona Department - TopicsExpress

ARTE Resort Retirement under investigation by Arizona Department of Health Services, Division of Licensing Services, Office of Assisted Living Licensing. A complaint has been filed and is currently being investigated by a Licensing Surveyor, who has not responded to a call by press regarding reports that patients in Arte Resort Retirements Assisted Living program are being left unattended with no Caregiver available and responsible in the event of a medical emergency or other care need. Apparently, the report was filed after observant residents noticed the sole Caregiver on duty in the evenings and at nights would clock out and leave the building for lunch and would also not be on the floor during regular smoke breaks by the pool. The shocked resident who reported the incident was told that a report would be filed on this and two other significant matters but that it would take months for it to be made public citing case load among other unspecified issues. ARTE has been one of the Valleys most troubled properties, built at the height of the real estate bubble and fueled by the fervor of those days like the colors of its Art Deco hues, the 170 unit, two building complex boasts several award winning features and an abundance of Art throughout, and yet, it has not been half full while much humbler, but not necessarily cheaper properties have been at record occupancies. Many wonder why.
