AS POWERFUL AS GOD IS, ONLY YOU CAN STOP HIM….! #6 We were able to present yesterday the characteristic; or the moral qualification which someone seeking to apply to represent God as His minister/ambassador must possess before any other thing. (The kind of character that was presented in this forum yesterday is what God has been expecting from the life of anyone that would love to apply to sit down in His office as the minister of the Word) (1Timothy 3:1-7). The notion is to distinguish this person who is returning back to God as His servant after wandering away for some time, from someone who still holds something against Him. This distinction here is to enable the person who is going to occupy this highly exalted office to accept the responsibility that something had gone wrong before. And now, God wants to work together with the person in order to repair the damages. This has been, and is, and will always remain the primary purpose of calling people into the ministry. It is very unfortunate that we have lost sight of this assignment, and it`s our inability to accept this responsibility that makes almost everyone of us not to understand that: The house of God (The Church of Jesus Christ) was supposed to be a Healing Ground for the destitute, the brokenhearted people, the people that are spiritually; physically, emotionally and psychologically sick. The Church of Jesus Church was instituted to be a new home or community for the less privilege, and a Sanctuary for those who have come to their senses and were able to look back. And begin to speak to themselves with the special understanding that they would not have been where they are today if not by the special grace/mercy of God. These are the people that have come to the place where they could individually begin to ask themselves questions like: what had made me so special from this man that was sleeping on the street and eating from the dust bin? How did I start this life, how much did I have when I have started this life, and today this is where I`m! And by merely looking back at life and still asking these questions which the answers could only be attributed to the unmerited favor of God. Then with much appreciation, each one would begin to give back to the less privilege for the glory of God who had given them the wisdom and power to make wealth. But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is He that gives thee power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). But to do good and to communicate (to share what you have with others) forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased (Hebrews 13:16). 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the Living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate (share what they have with others). 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life (1Timothy 6:17-19). We have been trying as much we can to show that the rich and the poor, the learned and unlearned were in need of the salvation which God had sacrificially offered, solely to restore the human race. And to continue to hope that riches mean blessings and, therefore, it is only the poor the Gospel should be preached to, is totally unscriptural! The idea to only court the rich and secure places for them in the front seats in the house of God is unscriptural!! The Bible has just warned that the riche should be told not to be highminded people. And the commandment that they should learn to share what they have with the poor is worth following or responding to…. The honor should be given to those who deserve honor, but in the house of God, let`s do the right thing. There is no two ways about this, because, before the Throne of God everybody, both the rich, Kings, Queens; Presidents, Prime Minister and the poor are going to bow down, and everyone is going to give account on how we have lived our lives in this world. The Bible says again, Let no one be deceived! (1Corinthians 3:18)(Galatians 6:7). Nobody that would like to imbibe this truth unless repentance has taken place in the person`s life. And what is likely to make it difficult is that the issue of repentance that gives room to salvation process has never been the focus of the Church. A rich man/woman needs repentance for the Holy Spirit to begin His work of sanctification in the person`s life. The Holy Spirit cannot work with any carnal person regardless of how many hours the person could be speaking in tongues every day. The constitution of the Kingdom of God speaks in this manner: 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. 5 Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God (John 3:3,5). The Lord Jesus did not say, unless you have become rich or that this is the sum to be paid. Instead, He said that there has to be a Unique Turn -Around, a U-Turn in one`s life (this means to have a personal encounter with the Holy Spirit that would bear witness that one is indeed the child of God). Those with the social Gospel do believe that salvation is free, but the reality is that it`s conditional. We have just read this from the mouth of the Lord Jesus the King and the Ruler in the Kingdom. And to show again that Christianity is not a blind faith (this means that); there is no intelligent being that would have any reason to say that God did not convince him/her so when the person gets there; there are so many questions to ask God. And In order to avoid such embarrassing moment; the Scripture has this example given to the rich to follow, and it is the duty of every man/woman of God to teach on it as well. 9 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 10 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, for as much as he also is a son of Abraham (Luke 19:9-10). After reading from this Scripture, It is either we preach and teach the people from the Bible or we continue with the philosophical theology that offers the people the social Gospel where the people can receive the salvation without accepting any responsibility. But if our intention in the ministry is to prepare the people so that when Christ Jesus comes back, there will be the Church to say, Welcome My friends for you have been faithful for the things of your Master, sit down at My right hand. Then, let`s get back to the Bible, because nobody that dies today that should come back to correct the mistakes of life over again. The Bible says, it is appointed unto man to die once, then the judgment follows (Hebrews 9:27).
