ASH continue to ignore media mentions of Allen Carr and Allen Carrs Easyway in their Bulletins. Here is how yesterdays piece in The Telegraph, which spoke in glowing terms about Allen Carrs method having cured a number of doctors of smoking, was covered by ASHs bulletin Dr Phil Hammond offers Telegraph readers advice on how to give up smoking. He recommends The SmokeFree Formula: A Revolutionary Way to Stop Smoking Now by Professor Robert West, which he suggests shows readers how to alter their behaviour and thinking, and he directs readers to local cessation clinics. Why would ASH continue to avoid any mention of Allen Carr in their bulletins? How many times has he been mentioned in them in the last 15 years in spite of regular features in national newspapers and magazinges, on TV, and on radio? Wed estimate less than half a dozen times - most of those surrounding the legal action as a result of an ASH Director wrongly claiming that Allen Carrs success rates were basically made up and plucked out of the air in an interview given on the day of Allens death! The legal action forced them to issue an apology.
