ASSET Project Manager (APM) Job description Nkhoma Synod (CCAP) Health Department in cooperation with the German Institute for Medical Mission (DIFAEM) implements the ASSET project towards strengthening Primary Health Care in Ntchisi district of Malawi is looking for a well qualified and skilled Malawian to fill the position of ASSET PROJECT MANAGER (APM). Key responsibilities The APM is responsible for the overall management of the ASSET project. This includes all aspects of planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting, both technically and financially. All ASSET components are included like community engagement, construction and improvement of existing health services. Specifically the APM Serves as liaison person between Nkhoma Synod Health Department and DIFAEM. Sustain and improve linkage to and cooperation between all stakeholders including the DHMT, NGOs and the communities Develops and oversees the ASSET project components in cooperation with Nkhoma Synod Health Department and DIFAEM. This includes all community related activities and especially aspects directly related to health service provision, e.g. strengthening of health services at village and facility level. Plans and supervises all project related activities in Ntchisi district in cooperation with the project team (ACEC and APO). Is responsible for developing and following up project implementation plans. Sets up the project budget in cooperation with the Nkhoma Synod Health Department accountant and DIFAEM. Supports all procurement activities. Ensures timely submission of narrative and financial reports. Ensures performance of the project based on agreed indicators and targets Qualifications and Requirements The APM is expected to be/have Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Health field Minimum of 5 years project management experience Excellent health project management skills Leadership skills and ability to work as a team leader and team member Excellent facilitation skills (participatory tools) Training and expertise in Primary Health care/Health management, good knowledge in community development is of advantage. Willing to live in Ntchisi district and be mobile within the district To be familiar with Ntchisi district is of advantage Good computer skills (MS office – Word, Excel). Experience in budgeting and writing reports. Experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders and international donors. Budgeting skills. Able to ride a motor bike. Aged between 25 to 40 years Accountability and reporting He/She is accountable and reports directly to the Programmes Coordinator of Nkhoma Synod Health Department and to DIFAEM. He/she is expected to work with minimal supervision. Salary The position attracts a monthly gross salary in the range of MK300,000.00 to MK380,000.00 commensurate with experience and qualification. The funding of this position ends 31.12.2014. It will be extended for one year depending on the MoU between DIFAEM and Nkhoma Synod.
