AT THE FEET OF THE RABBI DAILY DEVOTIONAL 23RD AUGUST 2014 GOD IS NOT THROUGH WITH YOU I am reminded today of a personal encounter many years ago while a fresher in the university. Due to certain crisis around my admission, I ended up resuming very late and to make matters worse, my first lecture in school happened to be the day for test! I sat with my course mates and wrote the test that I never attended a class for and one week later, in one of our classes, my course rep came in and started sharing the test script openly and when he got to my turn, he gave me mine and I scored 2 out of 20! I was so mocked by my friends that they thought I was a dull fellow. I could not excuse myself that it was my first day in class but hide my head in shame. From that day, they took their eyes off me and concluded that I was no competition for them. I remember crying to God later that day whether I came to university to be a failure. I cried that it had to be my worst result ever. At the end of that semester, as our results were pasted, there was a lot of curiosity amongst us as it was our first result as undergraduates (100 level) and behold, the rejected stone like myself was among the top 5 students in the entire department with a GPA of 4.23! I beat all my friends and mockers hands down and as they checked my result, they began to wonder how I rose from a score of 2 into a result with no E but A’s, B’s and all I could say to myself is that God was behind me all the while! Though men gave up on me because of my failure in the test, God showed them that He cannot be mocked or beaten! Dear partner, I graduated from that department on top even though I started poorly. Truly, the scripture says: “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase” Job 8:7. Never despise the days of your small beginnings or conclude that God has forsaken you; God is not through with you! The first house in a city may not be the most beautiful house. The first man to buy a car may not have the best car in town. The last indeed is the latest! God is not through with you. They may be mocking you right now because of certain areas of delay in your life but I announce to you today that God is not through with you. God can never be intimidated by their mockery; He is focused and won’t stop until He decorates you. I can imagine Joseph’s brother mocking him as the Ishmaelite traders took him away as a slave and mock him many dreams. I can even imagine them saying “goodbye mr dreamer and your dreams” but God would just be laughing at them because men may include you in their plans but they cannot conclude your story because they are not your maker. Did they not bow at last for Joseph? Did they not shiver at his presence at last? I prophesy to 15 users of this devotional that before this month runs out, every negative conclusion against your life will backfire in Jesus name. You are coming out of reproach and shame. You are rising out of that embarrassing situation because God is not through with you. Declare with me right now: I Know I am coming out as the latest because god is not through with me! Amen! Go out confident today and tell someone about this devotional. You will be decorated. Prayer: Father, turn every mockery in my life into a resounding testimony. Let my mockers eat their words this year in Jesus name. Key point: Men may include you in their plans but they cannot conclude your story because they are not your maker.
