ATO v Professional Tax Agents For tax agents who do not lodge 85% - TopicsExpress

ATO v Professional Tax Agents For tax agents who do not lodge 85% or more of the client tax returns on time, the Australian Taxation office is threatening to (1) remove their lodgement concessions (2) manually manage their lodgement program (3) refer them to the Tax Practitioners Board. But: (1) the Tax Practitioners Board does not have such a reference point in its assessment of the Code of Professional Conduct, so will dismiss any referral; (2) the 85% is being miss-quoted since December 2012. Despite these errors, the ATO has not withdrawn its policy or apologised to tax agents for their errors and misleading threats. Why?
