ATP PRESS CONFERENCE The Association of Transgender People in the Philippines and Transpinays of Antipolo Organization called for a PRESS CONFERENCE on the Jennifer Laude case. This was the first community presscon that was attended by other big transgender and ally orgs and was supported by a large network of womens groups in the country. The media briefing was attended by leaders and members from the following organizations: Transpinays of Antipolo Organization, Gender Proud Campaign, TransMan Pilipinas, Beteras Powerhouse of Beauties, Pinoy FTM, TransDeaf Philippines, Pinoy Deaf Rainbow, Queer Stud Philippines, IPride Manila, U.p. Babaylan, Rainbow Rights, Galang Philippines, Quezon City Pride Council, KAISA, ATP QC, Philwomen on ASEAN, Trippers Philippines and the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission and individual allies. Madam Kate Montecarlo Cordova read the official statement of the Association of Transgender People in the Philippines regarding the murder of our trans sister Jennifer Laude. Other org leaders delivered their own press statements as well. Congreswoman Kaka Bag-ao and Senator Bam Aquino sent their solidarity statements respectively.
