ATTENTION ALL MALE TRIATHLETES!!! Free VO2max testing, 3-D assessment of your running technique, and measurement of your running economy. We are conducting research which aims to understand and identify how running immediately following the cycle leg may be optimised, to help improve triathlon performance. In the coming months, my team at Edith Cowan University will be conducting a series of physiological and biomechanical testing on trained triathletes and we want you to be a part of it. WHO? We are looking for male triathletes between 18 and 45 years who have completed at least two Olympic distance triathlons and who have been training for triathlon for at least two years. WHAT? Only 3 testing sessions (~3 hours each). We will measure your VO2max, running technique and economy to assess your running performance before and after a customised cycle protocol. WHEN? Depending on your schedule, the testing sessions can be completed between 1-4 weeks within the testing period of 22nd of December 2014 to 31st of March 2015. WHERE? Edith Cowan University, Joondalup Campus. The benefits of participating in this study involve: - Free physiological and biomechanical assessment such as: o VO2max testing o Measurement of total body composition, fat content and bone density via a Dual- energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scan. o Analysis of running economy and running technique using 3-dimensional motion analysis o Exposure to state-of-the art testing sport science equipment and procedures If you are interested in finding out more about participating in this study, please feel free to contact any of the researchers below Chantelle du Plessis: [email protected], [0410301773] Dr. Jodie Wilkie: [email protected]
