ATTENTION! All AIRTEL BROADBAND connection users plz share and let other users know - So, I was facing a serious issue from yesterday while opening my web browser (Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla). Anytime I try to open any website there was a pop up window flashing in the middle of the screen and informing me that my web browser can not open this web page because the ADOBE FLASH PLAYER IS OUTDATED and I need to click on OK to update the Flash Player. Unfortunately, I thought it was a genuine update from Adobe that we receive every now and then; but to my dismay it came out to be a SERIOUS VIRUS. It got downloaded in 10 seconds and corrupted my entire hard disc. All my files got corrupted and I lost some major data :( I had to reboot my system completely today to remove that virus as it was not letting my computer to function properly and was highly unsafe. Moreover, I thought after rebooting I will not receive that pop window again or will be aware that it contain virus and will ignore it this time. I rebooted the windows and downloaded Google Chrome again and was quite happy that this time there was no pop up message and finally the browsers are working just fine. But, just when I thought everything was back to normal and I opened another window to log into my gmail account, that pop up window appeared again :O . This time being the smarty pants [that I am] :p I thought lets ignore n close this pop up message. When I clicked on close X to the top right the browsers crashed and started giving me server and proxy errors. I thought perhaps this was with Windows so I tried opening Safari and Chrome on my ipad just to be sure what the hell is wrong. Safari and Chrome on iPad wasnt opening either. I was running short on options on how to overcome this so I called the Airtel Broadband customer service. The CSE asked me to run few commands on the system and later informed that their system has been HACKED from past 5 days and many people are facing the same issue. Their senior executives are working on it but are not able to figure out what is this and from where this virus is coming. I request everyone not to open that link or even click on it. If u are facing this issue then close the browser and open a new one. If u still get the same problem call the Broadband Customer Service to obtain new proxy settings. Thanks, Himika
