ATTENTION: BATON TWIRLING COACHES The great thinker---Theoretical Physicist - Albert Einstein - (1879-1955) - who developed the General Theory of Relativity - has some advice for all of us: He is recorded as saying; If you cant explain it to a 6-year old, you dont understand it yourself. So, if we take this bit of wisdom to heart---we might find ourselves having to ask another Coach, Tell me---no, show me--how do YOU explain to a 10-year old Athlete ... HOW TO DO A BACK OF THE NECK ROLL - or - HOW TO DO A MONSTER ROLL? In do doing, certainly we can pick up some more definable words or ideas to pass on to our Athletes that will assist them in their learning process. As Coaches, we dont have to be able to execute a Monster Roll (or any other trick, leap, etc.) to teach it---but if we want our Athletes to execute a Monster Roll--(or any other roll - or trick)---in his or her routine with great skill---perhaps we need to find better and better ways---or the right words to explain it---especially to a very young child. Some children, however, are visual learners---so, if you cant execute a Monster Roll - (or another roll, trick, leap, etc.) - ask a Coachs permission to have one of his or her Athletes to execute it---videoing the Roll (or trick) on your IPhone, Android, etc, so you can show the video to your Athlete---for him or her to visually study HOW it is executed. Seeing the Roll (or trick) executed---for a Visual learner might be the most expedient way for him or her to learn it. Lets feel more free to ask other Coaches for information---ideas---or assistance that we might need so that we can use it to accelerate our Athletes abilities and skills in order to make him or her into being the best athlete that he or she can be! And, Coaches .... lets be willing to assist others ... so that we can keep our wonderful world of baton twirling moving forward ... growing, expanding ... great fun .... for everyone!
