ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This post is long, but PLEASE READ and SHARE the crap out of it!!!! I have been privy to the newest IRS scam which has been working its way through our nation. Please note that all 3 individuals that called me were of Middle Eastern Decent......As their accents were undeniable!!! I received a disturbing phone call from the Florham Park NJ Police office stating I have a warrant out for my arrest for tax evasion and to call 202 241-7013 and discuss the matter with an Officer Hayes from the IRS. Upon calling and speaking with this Officer Hayes he proceeded to yell and scream at me about how the government has evidence against me that I have willingly stolen money and will now be arrested and prosecuted. If I agree to take the plea option today then I would only owe them just over 6K. Needless to say I was balling with tears and was shocked about what was happening. I told him I am unable to arrange this type of payment today and dont understand why I was not informed formally by letter from the IRS. He continued to yell at me stating that this WAS my warning and that I need to comply or face prison time. He then mentioned that I could pull cash and deliver it to a specific location in the Durham, NC area. At this time I began to drive, as I pass the Durham Court House on my way home every day. I was stalling him as much as I could being this whole thing just seemed so mind-blowingly strange. Once at the courthouse I mentioned that I saw online there is an IRS scam going around that Im not comfortable with this situation right now. He said he will then call the police and have me arrested today. I said no problem cause Im standing outside the courthouse with a cop who you can explain the situation to. He hung up..... I explained the situation to the officer and then the phone rang with a NC number. I requested to officer to answer, which he did and proceeded to be an amazing human being!!! It was the 3rd middle eastern speaking person in the scam...now saying he is a cop from a local office. the officer asked his several questions and hung up the phone. He told me to contact that exact precinct and ask for a Joe Murphy, at the office. The scary thing is that the numbers which were calling me from the police stations were ACTUAL police station phone numbers.....but the people calling were not really people from that facility. I called and confirmed that there was no such person as Joe Murphy. BE WARNED!!!!!!!!!!! Im glad I kept a level head during this, as they use EXTREME BULLY TACTICS!!!! They dont stop and get you to the point that you question yourself. The $$$$ amount they claimed I owed was indeed an amount I owed the IRS back in 2009....So that leads me think these Middle Eastern speaking people have hacked into the US IRS websites to gain access to account information. TELL EVERYONE!!!!!!!!! THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!! Very disturbing!!!!!
