***ATTENTION GULLIBLE PEOPLE OUT THERE*** I received a call yesterday and again this morning from overseas telling me they were from the finance department of the Australian Government and they have a $7,300- cheque waiting for me. They asked for my full name, date of birth and bank details and I was to claim my cheque by calling a toll free number (an 02- Sydney number) and then my cheque would be issued. I gave them a false bank account and a false date of birth. They only had the details of id from the white pages. When I asked where they were they said we are in Pitt St., Sydney and we are from the finance department of the Australian Government. I reported it to scamwatch....
