ATTENTION NI THEATRE MAKERS Audience Interactive work – 3 day workshop with Shadow Casters in Belfast. ** Only a few places remaining! ** Are you making work where you are inviting your audience in to interact with the piece? Are you making work in public spaces? Are you exploring new forms and spaces for your work? Then this might be for you. A three day workshop, sharing and discussion about how and why we make work which involves, engages and interacts with our audiences in different ways with Katarina Pejovic of Shadow Casters from Croatia. In this practical workshop we will explore different models of working and structuring the work involving audiences whether they are unsuspecting, involved in the process or demanding to be entertained. We will also ask the big questions of why we do this kind of work, how ensure our audience is getting something out of it as well as how to make it an extraordinary and unique experience for them that could not have been executed in any other way. We will look at examples and explore questions such as: How do we manipulate the experience without making it too staid, too controlled? How do we create dramaturgically sophisticated and complex pieces whilst still leaving the structure open for our audiences to shape their experience and how do we use new technologies in ways that does not get in the way or distract from the experience? The workshop takes place at the MAC 1st - 3rd of July culminating in a sharing and a discussion with an invited audience at 4.30 on the 3rd of July.
