Wellington and Rose in Switzerland 2008 It is with sad and heavy hearts we must let everyone know that Wellington passed away during the night. As many of you know she was a great companion for many years for Rose during her cystic fibrosis challenges. She traveled with us throughout Europe and enjoyed as great a life that any companion animal could. She had many adventures from being adopted from the humane society, to eating a whole raw turkey at Christmas, to staying with Rose during her hospitalizations, to helping Rose through the airports of Amsterdam and Minneapolis on their many transatlantic travels when we lived in Belgium. Welly lived for over 13 years which is extraordinary for a large breed dog. She was a gentle soul from the beginning to the end. We were so blessed to have had her as a big presence in our lives. She had some health challenges the last few years but spent her last week doing so well at the lake and even spent several hours in the water. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
