ATTENTION PARENTS AND SCHOOL EMPLOYEES: We are facing some - TopicsExpress

ATTENTION PARENTS AND SCHOOL EMPLOYEES: We are facing some challenging weather. It could possibly last the entire rest of the week. With our shortened calendar our students cannot afford a significant loss of instructional time and still master standards. After a lengthy discussion of options with principals, I recommended the following calendar revisions to the Board of Education and they approved them at their meeting tonight. March 10 and 11 will now be student and teacher days. March 31, April 1, and April 2 will now be student and teacher days. This may eliminate the need for teacher to make up days during post-planning, but we will need to see how much more inclement weather comes our way. We chose to avoid Winter Break next week because of short notice to employees and parents. Although these revisions could interfere with Spring Break plans you have made, at least you have more notice to make adjustments. I appreciate your patience and cooperation. I also trust that you will make every effort to provide quality instruction in the days we have left. A pride of Lions will always stick together in rain, snow, sleet or shine! --Dr. Ruth ODell
