ATTENTION: Rescues Only: This is a courtesy posting in an effort to help place some of the huskies recently rescued from a hoarding situation in Quebec. Please respond by email for photographs, description and direct contact details of the rescue coordinator. Thank you!! ***** On October 30, 2013, HSI, Western Quebec SPCA and MAPAQ seized close to 80 dogs from an abusive hoarding situation in the Abitibi Temiscamingue area. The link below is to a communiqué dated 31 October by the government of Quebec. communiques.gouv.qc.ca/gouvqc/communiques/GPQF/Octobre2013/31/c8824.html - Please let me know if you require the translation. Presently there are 15 dogs that urgently need to be placed with rescues. We have been assured by the MAPAQ that all of the dogs will have been spayed/neutered prior to placement. The dogs have been vaccinated with the exception of Rabies (as it is not required in Quebec). All of the dogs have been temperament tested. There is a profile and photograph for each dog that can be found in the attached document. (note: Crystal has been placed). We have been given a deadline to place these dogs: December 20th 2013. If you can possibly take in a dog(s) please let me know as soon as possible. Please identify the dog(s) that you are able to accept by name. (dumas25@gmail). Additionally, if you are not in the position to assist please let me know so that we can take you off the list of rescues we are contacting, sending updates to. …and here is the first update The dogs as a whole are either very shutdown and need a calm stable environment along with time to come out of their shell or have various levels on anxiety issues that would need an experienced foster home to work with. Fox, Taz, Iceman, Bowser and Mary have been undergoing treatment for skin mites during their stay at the shelter and we will provide the medication (demodex) that will take them up to the end of the current prescription however afterwards a follow up on the condition might be required and if the dog has already been placed MAPAQ wouldnt be prepared to cover these costs. All dogs that you place in rescue will come with no fees and all dogs will have been sterilized, vaccinated and micro chipped. Meanwhile, thank you so much for taking the time to read and reply to us.
