ATTENTION STUDENTS: Are you interested in pursuing a career in public service? Do you hope to attend graduate school? Then the Truman Scholarship may be for you! The Truman Scholarship is a living memorial, established and sustained in honor of President Harry S Truman. The scholarship is a competitive award, and provides up to $30,000 to recipients for the senior year of college and graduate study. In addition, Truman Scholars have access to internship opportunities in Washington, DC, as well as a wide and impressive network of current and past Truman Scholars. Additional information can be accessed at truman.gov. There will be an informational session on Wednesday, September 10, 12 – 1 pm in the Memorial Union (Lark Room) for anyone who may be interested in applying for the scholarship. Applications must be submitted in a student’s junior year, so all first-year, sophomore, and junior-standing students are welcome to attend. Here, you will hear from NDSU’s most recent Truman Scholar, Robbie Lauf (Truman ’14), and be able to ask questions of him, NDSU Truman adviser Dr. Kjersten Nelson (Truman ’01), and Dr. David Buchanan (Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources, and former Truman Committee member at Oklahoma State University.)
